PocketWiki turns Wikipedia into a native, reading-first PocketBook app. Search live, turn pages with real buttons, and take complete articles offline. You do not need an account, and your library stays on the reader.

Reading, not browsing

The encyclopedia gets out of the way.

PocketWiki keeps the article prose, section hierarchy, useful links, and a small set of substantial images. The browser furniture stays behind.

  No embedded browser. Touch targets, type sizes, refreshes, and page turns are handled directly through InkView.

  Articles are measured and paginated for the display. Use the lower hardware keys, screen edges, or footer arrows.

  Follow underlined links, walk back through article history, or long-press a link to save its target for later.

The reader uses Wi-Fi only to search or download. Everything you keep is stored beside the app in a human-readable local library.

Library

  Mark an open article or long-press a link. Later stays distinct from the articles you intend to keep.

  Switch the language badge to lv, de, fr, or another Wikipedia edition. Search and the live main page follow it.

  No account and no background sync

  There is no advertising, analytics, profile, or cloud library. PocketWiki stores only what its reader needs.

Installation

Put PocketWiki in your pocket.

PocketWiki is open-source software for the PocketBook Verse Pro. Build the application with the pinned PocketBook SDK, then copy one file to the reader.

1. Get the source

   Clone the repository from GitHub. The build and SDK versions are already pinned.

2. Build the app

   Run make build with Docker or OrbStack available.

3. Connect by USB

   Choose PC link on the PocketBook and open its applications directory.

4. Copy and read

   Copy PocketWiki.app, eject safely, and open it from Apps.
